Urban Bridal

Not every bride dreams of getting married on an exotic beach, in a vineyard or under a canopy or redwood trees.  Some chose the gritty glamour of the city, something edgy and modern like them.  Our photoshoot in the LA Arts District captured this perfectly.  I selected three of my designs to play against the murals, concrete and warehouses all around us.

Our model, Courtnay Sian, was styled and shot by an amazing an A-List team: famed photographer Dali Ma, Lexi Bowman on Hair, and Suna Myles with Make Up.  We spent an afternoon hopping around the Arts District to create fun and romantic scenes.

On our first set, Courtnay plays in a white dress made of organza fabric, layered with embroidery and a full skirt.  The design is fresh and classic, with an easy romantic flair.  The weight of the fabric keeps all the lines of the dress clean. Embroidery along the shoulders and chest give the dress a traditional touch.

Our next look captured Courtnay in her most romantic mood: a fitted dress with light sleeves, a long silhouette that follows her curves.  The thin ribbon at her waist keeps the dress looking young, while the light layer of rose embroidery over the cream embroidered fabric provides the perfect hint of contrast.  She’s holding a simple bouquet of soft autumn flowers that I picked up at the flower market that morning and tied with string.  With all of this working together, she looks modern and classic against the hard edges of the city.

Lastly, Dali captures Courtnay and her most sultry, on the famous 4thStreet bridge in downtown.  The sunset hit her perfectly in a dress that hugs her body, giving her silhouette long curves.  The beading on the dress adds the right amount of sparkle against the falling sun so that she twinkled like old Hollywood glamour.

It was an incredible day with the most talented group of artists.
